Lingering Light

The Lingering Light group show was a success! It was something Elle, Sue and I had decided to do locally as there was an opportunity to take space at Sovereign House, in West River, Bronte. We have been art friends for several years, and thought it would work - it did!

We don’t paint together and we all have a different approach to how we work, also we had not shared our work before we met to hang it. Talk about trusting the process!

We did have an unspoken trust that it would work out. After a long morning working it hung beautifully, the colours and feel of all of our paintings worked well together.

Our preview evening was Friday 21st June with over 50 people attending a wonderful reception with drinks and treats. The public show was Saturday and Sunday and we had a steady stream of visitors, local residents, people who’d seen our social media posts and posters that were locally displayed in Bronte and I had 3 people come to say hello - as we’d only been connected online. It’s so nice to finally meet in-person.

I had a great followup and later that month sold two paintings in addition to the 3 I sold at the show. Success is not measured by sales (of course) but to see your work head to a happy home makes for a wonderful feeling that someone appreciates your art and will enjoy it for years ahead.
