The Lingering Light group show was a success! It was something Elle, Sue and I had decided to do locally as there was an opportunity to take space at Sovereign House, in West River, Bronte.

The image above is from a place that is like a portal for me. It’s Dublin Airport, the threshold of coming ‘home’, and leaving to go ‘home’. The words on the wall are from a poem called Swanlight. How does this intertwine with new work that’s on show in June?

Reflecting on things.. it’s a good time of year to look back as the seasons shift. I’m wondering who else has been feeling the pull to stay home, to cocoon and think of hibernating? There’s a slowing, and that’s good…we all need periods of hibernation. In a world that doesn’t want us to stop, we have to find ways to take time out.

Sunrise has become part of my routine. Have you been to the lake here in Oakville to watch ?

All along the lake, we have public parks and walkways, places you can take it in, quietly and away from the sometimes-gaggle of people on the beach or at the pier.

What wasn’t to love? Oakville at it’s best - celebrating local talents and inspiring everyone to go a little slower to appreciate what we have right here, at home.
